"I have found that when you aren't working and don't have children in
school it is very hard to meet people. When we first moved to Ft. Wayne
I was close to stopping people in the grocery store to see if they would
like to have lunch and be my friend. Now that I discovered Newcomers I
am never at a loss for friends or lunch dates!"

"As a Newcomer for over 5 years now, I can truly testify as to how it has helped me these past years.
As a couple with no children, we do not have the same opportunities to meet couples through our children. The Newcomers Club offered us so many outlets to meeting women, men and couples. I have participated in several groups and my husband and I have attended most of the Club-sponsored events and my calendar is always full of fun things to do. In addition, every new year brought new members so there is constant opportunities to meet new friends.
Because of the nature of the Club many members, who were once new to Fort Wayne, have since moved on again. But the beauty of it is no matter where we move we will still have the friends we made in Newcomers. It is just a terrific, easy and fast way to make friends.
The Newcomers Club is the best part of living in Fort Wayne!"

"A few years ago my husband and I left our lifelong hometown and moved 800 miles away to Fort Wayne, USA . . . talk
about a mid-life adventure! My husband dove happily into his exciting new job; our teenage son promptly became
involved in his new school, and I had a great time setting up a new home. Soon, though, I really began to miss
friends and family as well as the interesting job I'd left behind when we moved.
Thank goodness my friend Margaret made me join Newcomers because it has saved me from becoming a totally
hallucinogenic housewife. Each month my calendar is filled with great activities to participate in. And,
best of all, I hang out with a group of truly kind, interesting women who make me laugh out loud with their wit.
Newcomers has been such a fantastic informal support group that medical insurance companies ought to reimburse our
dues under the category of mental health."
