The Newcomers Club is a social organization dedicated to providing interesting, fun activities and events to facilitate new friendships. New residents may join Newcomers during their first 18 months in Fort Wayne. After 5 full years of membership, members "graduate" to our alumni organization, Encore; however, dual membership in both organizations is possible after 4 full years. Newcomer Club dues are $25 per year (Membership forms are located under Forms). Business meetings are held at a luncheon on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at local country clubs or restaurants. A new Board of Directors is elected each May and most positions are held for one year.

Our primary means of communication is a monthly newsletter with current information on each hobby group, a calendar of events, a registration form for the luncheon, short reports from several board members, birthday wishes and new member updates. "Flash" emails are sent to the general membership if information must be shared quickly between newsletters. A directory, listing each member with all contact info, is published in September and is distributed free to all members.

Newcomers offers a wide variety of daytime and evening (single and couple) activities. Numerous hobby groups including bridge, bunko, antiquing, book club, needlework, tennis, le gourmet, scrapbooking, wine-tasting, movies, and many more meet monthly. New groups form as interests change and the need arises. Special events are also held and may be formal or casual, here or away, or for singles or couples. Newcomers also participate in several community service projects.
